Shaman Healing Equivalency Points (Shaman_hep)

So... I downloaded two mods: LoggerHead and shaman_hep to help point me in the right direction for my haste vs. crit issue.

After installing ActivePerl and letting LoggerHead record a couple of 10/25 man raids and a few heroics, I get this as a result.

For healing output:
1 SP = 1 SP (0.2946 hps)
1 Crit rating = 0.7013 SP (0.2066 hps)
1 Haste rating = 1.6260 SP (0.4790 hps)
1 INT = 0.3625 SP (0.1068 hps)

For mana regen:
1 MP5 = 1 mp5
1 Crit rating = 0.0683 mp5
1 Haste rating = -0.1911 mp5
1 INT = 0.2219 mp5
1 Mana = 0.0070 mp5
Total mana regen points needed from gear: 821.44

Shaman Healing Equivalency Points:
1 SP = 1
1 mp5 = 1.1268 (calculated)
1 mana = 0.0079
1 Haste rating = 1.4107
1 Crit rating = 0.7783
1 INT = 0.6126 (actual)
1 INT = 0.8816 (max theoretical)

Which tells me that I still need to value haste more than crit. Ok, that's cool and all. But what really blew my mind was the helpful Pawn values (though I don't use it) and Wowhead links (1 and 2).

Course all of the gear that's listed is out of my content range, but I was really surprised how much of the +20 haste epic gems Wowhead showed on the items. I still prefer gemming as much for sp as possible.

Am I wrong in this? Wouldn't it make more sense to do the 12 spellpower/10 haste gem over straight 20 haste even for a yellow slot?

Granted, I might have to fiddle more with the config settings for the shaman_hep script, since you do have to hard code a couple items. But I found it interesting reading. :D

Still wishing I had 3 talent builds and glyph selections though. Do MT resto, raid resto, and enhancement (freaking dailies). But that, if ever (yeah right!) will be way down the line.

Haste vs Crit balance issues

So I've definitely noticed a difference in how I heal heroics versus raids.

Heroics, I need tons of haste for that slow slow Chain Heal. Raids, I need crit for huge Lesser Healing Waves.

Unfortunately, I'm not at a gear level to be able to swap pieces out for haste/crit depending on what I'm healing.

Maybe if I just insist on tossing Lesser Healing Waves around during heroics, see how that goes, instead of using Chain Heal so much.

All I know is that when I need a heal RIGHT NOW!! it's too late. I can make one big heal every 3 mins thanks to Nature's Swiftness. I had a macro that would pop that, my trinkets, Tidal Focus, and then cast Healing Wave. But I now use it with my Jesus beam. Because if things get that bad, it's nice to have healed more than one person.

I really need the two piece T8 bonus for that reduced cooldown on Riptide. I use that spell whenever I can, but it always seems to be on cooldown. *sighs*

WTB more gear options. :p

Kaly and Eto's new guild

Faded Delusions, a horde family leveling/casual raiding guild on Shadow Council is up and running. Current roster is small, but we're recruiting active members. Doesn't matter what level or spec, we're taking friendly people.

Looking to build a core 10 man group for casual raiding.

Tired of silent guild chat, bored of not running instances, tired of being told you need gear? We'll welcome you with open arms. Just looking to have a good time with friends and collect loot along the way.

If this sounds like anything you'd be interested in, please contact Kalyara or Etolani in game.

Happy hunting!

Server transfers

So Kaly and I have been moaning and complaining about Bronzebeard for a while now. The list goes something like: bad lfg, can't find pugs, insane guildies, we miss our Shadow Council friends, etc.

Well certain actions from said guildies have pushed us over the edge. Kaly at one time threatened to move her lock to Bronzebeard to show people what dps meant. Now we're swinging the opposite way. We want to move our Bronzebeard toons over to Shadow Council.

So then all of our playable toons (and bank toons) would be on the same server just with different factions. Hello neutral auction house abuse. :D

Now we just need to decide when the switches will occur and in what order. Kaly lucks out, she only has her Dk and her cute tauren bank toon. Whereas I have: Eto, Kuta, Loke, and Eyeburner that I want to bring over. o.O That's $100 just for my toons. Crazy.

So an order must occur. Her DK and my shaman should be first. I can still work on Loke's inscription (with the help of Kuta farming). But once Eto is moved, I no longer have access to herbs, other than doing the neutral AH from Kaly's herbalist warlock. :D

And when Kuta is moved, poor Loke is left in Dal with no leather or weeds.

We need to pick a date for the first two, then I need to focus on maxing everyone's professions asap. Kalyara's JC and Enchanting, Eto's alchemy, Loke's inscription.

In the process Kuta will get a name change, and Eyeburner will eventually get a faction/gender change. I need to reserve the new toon name asap. That's right, my ugly ass male troll fury warrior will become a cute blue haired death dealing female gnome fury warrior. :P

And then we need to find a guild, or start a horde guild. *shrugs* Probably start a horde guild. We like doing that. :p

Choose your butt - NPC Comic

Too funny and very appropriate. Though I tend to play alliance females (go gnomes) and horde males, I know the majority of my friends play the hot female belfs just to look at pixelated ass. Which, you can't really fault them, since the majority of the time you are looking at your toons backside, why not enjoy the view...

Anyway, here's the comic.

Loots!

Haven't really had time to play much WoW lately, an odd couple of hours every day or so.

Grats to Kalyara for getting her epic flying and epic flying mount. I'm a little jealous of her. :D Since I still don't have mine and I still need to pay for dual spec. Bleargh. Poor poor money bags.

Did have the chance to run normal ToC a few times, attended a two-shot guild Ony10 raid, a three-shot guild Uld10 Flame Leviathan run last night, and a few heroics throughout the week. There's talk of us finally starting to do Naxx10 for emblems and some odd loot drops here and there. That got me excited. Kalyara and I need emblems and any drops would be awesome.

Did manage to pick up some nifty items from those instances/raids. So Eto is getting some better gear. He's not where I want him to be yet, though he probably never will be that well geared. :p But progress is progress.

Recent Upgrades:
Deadly Gladiator's Totem of the Third Wind which I did a couple AVs and one WG for. Think I need to buy the emblem chain healing totem as well, and swap them out for raiding/heroics. Since I'm specced and gearing towards MT heals, heroic healing is more challenging from all of the party dmg that I actually have to care about. :p

Tears if the Vanquished from normal ToC. Int!! I love me some int, well, lots of int. The bigger my mana pool the happier I am.

Leggings of the Bloodless Knight
from normal ToC. Finally got the sapphire spellthread made and attached last night. Just need to get them gemmed now. Crit, haste, and a bunch of spellpower. Nice.

Sash of Blood Removal from H-Gundrak last night. Yeah, I know it's leather, but it's a nice little belt that replaced the blue mail belt from said instance that I won a night or two prior. :D Need to get a belt buckle made and a gem cut for it though. I need gems!! :p

Overlook Handguards ...H-Drak'Tharon Keep drop. Really don't like them because of the spirit, but the other stats were far superior to my old gloves that I'm using them anyway. I bet I get a few looks from people, since spirit is useless for a resto shaman. Just need something like 23 more Emblems of Triumph to be able to pick up my T9 gloves, which I intend to do as quickly as possible.

Frozen Tear of Elune was an emblem purchase from last night. Nice upgrade over my blue zul'drak quest neck. :D I'll be using it for a while. Unless I somehow luck out and manage to get into a pug Naxx25, win the key for EoE25 and beat that too... yeah... :p Nice neck. :D

Energy Siphon from last night's Flame Leviathan run. Which is really really nice. Macro that to pop for just before I cast Earth Shield. Nice. Just really don't want to give up either of my current trinkets for it. I'm not really running out of mana that often. I don't have a stockpile of gear to swap mp5 for crit + sp gear to make my overall stats consistent. So I think it'll have to stay in the bank for a bit. Which really makes me sad. I just can't afford to give up the SP, Haste, or potion boost on my Mecurial Alchemist Stone quite yet. But I'm willing to try. :D

and finally...

Gaze of Ten Storms which I scored from Ony10. Also picked up Coif of Ten Storms, since I was the only shaman in the raid. :D Shame I had already dropped a bunch of gold and lucky drops for my enhancement set. :( So the 2nd helm will sit in the bank gathering dust for a while.

My current ideal set is built around the two piece set bonus of both T8 and T9. I can use emblems of conquest for the T8 bonus (though I'd lose my Ony helm) and emblems of triumph for my T9 bonus.

I just think those two stacked together would improve one of my 3 main healing spells: Riptide.

T8(2) bonus reduces the cooldown on Riptide by 1 second. So tossing that around every five seconds would help my heroic healing or spot raid healing, etc. I try to keep it up on as many people as possible since I love the stacked boost with Chain Heal.

T8(2) bonus increases the healing done by my Riptide by 20%. I could be all geeky and show you exactly what that would do for my healing, but I don't know the math and I'm too lazy to look the numbers up. Suffice to say, I believe it would tie in nicely to my preferred healing style.

>.> I also want to get the 2 piece healing/dps trinket set from Ony10: Purified Shard of the Flame and Purified Shard of the Scale. But I'm not trying to be greedy here. :D
